Job Description

We are seeking an experienced SAP Vertex Functional Consultant with strong expertise in US and Canada Indirect Taxation and SAP Vertex O Series . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience integrating Vertex with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA , supporting tax determination, production support, tax compliance, and business process enhancements across Sales & Distribution (SD), Materials Management (MM), and Finance (FI).

Key Responsibilities Functional Responsibilities

• Configure and support SAP Vertex O Series for indirect tax determination.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional solutions.
• Support end-to-end Sales Tax, Use Tax, VAT/GST, and Excise Tax processes.
• Collaborate with business users, tax teams, and finance stakeholders to resolve tax-related issues.
• Conduct impact analysis for new tax regulations and business changes.
• Prepare functional specifications and support technical teams during development.

SAP Vertex Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain Vertex tax rules and tax determination logic.
• Validate tax calculations for customer and vendor transactions.
• Support tax exemption certificate management.
• Troubleshoot tax calculation discrepancies and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
• Support Vertex upgrades and tax content updates.

SAP Integration Responsibilities

• Support SAP Vertex integration with SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA .
• Work closely with SAP SD, MM, and FI teams to ensure seamless tax determination.
• Validate inbound and outbound tax interfaces.
• Coordinate with middleware and technical teams for integration troubleshooting.

Production Support

• Provide Level 2 and Level 3 production support.
• Investigate and resolve tax-related production incidents.
• Monitor interfaces and transaction failures.
• Perform root cause analysis and recommend permanent solutions.
• Support month-end and year-end tax processes.

Testing & Documentation

• Prepare functional specifications and test scripts.
• Execute Unit Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
• Support production deployments and post-go-live activities.
• Maintain project documentation and knowledge articles.
