About the Role

We’re seeking a talented 3D Animator to join our team and bring characters, creatures, and gameplay experiences to life on the Roblox platform. This role focuses on stylized, expressive animations that work within the Roblox R6 rig, while maintaining smooth performance and consistent quality across the project.

You’ll collaborate with character artists, designers, and the Art Director to create engaging animation sets that not only look great but also enhance gameplay.

Responsibilities

• Create stylized, polished animations for characters, creatures, and props within the Roblox R6 framework.
• Animate a wide range of motion: idles, walks, runs, attacks, emotes, and cinematic moments.
• Work within the technical constraints of Roblox Studio, ensuring animations are efficient and performant.
• Collaborate with 3D artists to maintain proper rig functionality and clean deformation.
• Iterate quickly based on feedback while maintaining a high standard of quality.
• Export, test, and implement animation assets into Roblox Studio.
• Ensure animation style remains consistent with the game’s art direction and tone.
• Requirements
• Strong portfolio showcasing character animation (gameplay cycles, emotes, or cinematic animation).
• Proficiency in Blender software.
• Familiarity with Roblox R6 rigs and adapting animation to their proportions.
• Understanding of animation principles (timing, weight, arcs, squash & stretch, anticipation, etc.).
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
• Strong communication skills and comfort with collaborative workflows.Must be 18 years or older.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience animating for Roblox Studio specifically.
• Knowledge of rigging/skinning basics to troubleshoot issues.
• Background in stylized animation for games or films.
• Passion for creating engaging, expressive character performances.

Compensation:

$20-25 an hour

The listed salary range is an estimate. Actual offers may fall within or exceed this range, depending on factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs, and market demand.

Please note that this job is only currently available to people that are 18+ and are based in the US! While we’d love to hire from outside the US, currently we’re not able to at this time.
