STATEMENT OF THE JOB

  • The Workforce Wellness Clinician is responsible for developing, implementing, and leading wellness and resilience initiatives that support the mental health and wellbeing of Contact Center employees. This role focuses on mitigating the impact of high-stress work, including exposure to crisis and trauma-related calls, by providing structured support, debriefing opportunities, and proactive wellness programming.
  • Working in close partnership with the Clinical Director and Training team, the Workforce Wellness Clinician fosters a culture of wellbeing, equips staff with effective coping strategies, and ensures employees have access to appropriate internal and external supports, including referrals to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Staff Wellness & Support

  • Provide individual and group support to Contact Center staff related to stress, secondary trauma, and workplace wellbeing.
  • Facilitate regular and as-needed debriefing sessions following difficult calls or critical incidents.
  • Create a safe, supportive environment for staff to process experiences and build resilience.
  • Offer guidance and coaching on self-care practices and stress management strategies.

Wellness Programming & Initiatives

  • Design and implement a comprehensive wellness program tailored to the needs of a 24/7 Contact Center workforce.
  • Develop initiatives that promote resilience, prevent burnout, and support staff retention and engagement.
  • Integrate trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches into wellness efforts.
  • Evaluate participation and engagement in wellness activities and adjust offerings based on staff needs.

Training & Development Collaboration

  • Partner with the Training & Credentialing team to develop and deliver training sessions on wellness, self-care, resilience, and vicarious trauma.
  • Contribute to onboarding and ongoing staff development to ensure wellness practices are embedded in employee experience.
  • Support supervisors and leaders with tools and guidance to reinforce staff wellbeing within their teams.

Referral & Resource Coordination

  • Assess when staff may benefit from additional support and provide appropriate referrals, including to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) or external providers.
  • Maintain knowledge of internal and community-based mental health resources.
  • Support staff in navigating available resources in a confidential and supportive manner.

Collaboration & Organizational Support

  • Work closely with the Clinical Director to align wellness strategies with organizational priorities and clinical best practices.
  • Partner with Contact Center leadership to identify trends or stress points impacting staff wellbeing.
  • Provide recommendations to leadership on systemic opportunities to improve employee wellness and support.
Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Current licensure (LMSW, LPC, LP, or equivalent) in the State of Michigan.
  • 2–4 years of clinical or behavioral health experience, including experience supporting individuals experiencing stress or trauma.
  • Must reside in the State of Michigan

Preferred:

  • Experience in crisis services, contact centers, or high-intensity human services environments.
  • Experience facilitating group support or debriefing sessions.
  • Training or experience in trauma-informed care, secondary traumatic stress, or resilience-building.

KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES

  • Strong clinical skills with an emphasis on trauma-informed and resilience-based approaches. 
  • Ability to facilitate group discussions, debriefings, and wellness sessions. 
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to build trust with staff. 
  • Strong boundaries and understanding of the distinction between employee support and clinical treatment. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively across clinical, training, and operations teams. 
  • Understanding of workplace wellness, burnout prevention, and staff support strategies.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • This position operates in a hybrid environment with flexibility for on-site and remote work. Regular on-site presence is encouraged to support staff accessibility. Some evening or off-shift availability may be required to support a 24/7 workforce.
