Job Description

HAGS is an intimate, queer-centric tasting menu restaurant helmed by Chef Telly Justice (nominated for Best Chef NY State 2024, nominated for Emerging Chef 2023, winner of Michelin Young Chef 2024 New York) and Sommelier Camille Lindsley (Wine Enthusiast Future 40 2022). We are looking for passionate line cooks for our kitchen who are seeking a small team setting with creative, hyper seasonal menus, and sustainable sourcing practices. 

We offer a 4 day work week, ~40hrs a week, with flexible scheduling and tons of learning and growth opportunities! We're looking for someone that:

-has a strong work ethic and positive attitude
-takes craft and curiosity seriously, and loves to learn
-demonstrates clear communication skills
-has ambition to further their culinary career in a high standard kitchen
-takes direction well, and is happy to offer their thoughts and opinions in a constructive way

Skills that we employ daily in our kitchen, that will ensure you are a great fit:

-strong knife skills
-a basic understanding of sauce making, emulsions, etc.
-a basic understanding of protein butchery and cookery - or willingness to learn
-a basic understanding of vegan and allergen sensitive cooking - or a willingness to learn
-setting up and running a station for service
-time management skills and diligent note taking
