Job Description:
A reputable organization in the financial services industry is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their team. The company prides itself on accuracy and efficiency in managing financial transactions and maintaining precise records. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling daily financial activities, ensuring correct payment applications, reconciling accounts, and assisting with vendor payments. This role requires a dependable professional who can thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.


Responsibilities:

  • Apply incoming payments to open customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile payments due with surety companies to ensure account accuracy.
  • Review, reconcile, and process payment of outstanding surety statements.
  • Assist with processing wire transfers and check payments to support accounts payable activities.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed financial records and resolve discrepancies as they arise.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners regarding payment status and account inquiries.
  • Support the accounting team with additional bookkeeping and administrative duties as required.
  • Oversee a staff of two assisting with billing for new business and renewals.


Requirements:

  • 3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting support experience
  • Knowledge of TAM and/or EPIC software (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of accounts receivable and accounts payable processes
  • Experience reconciling accounts and processing payments
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Experience working with insurance agencies, surety companies or financial services (preferred)
  • Associate's degree in accounting, finance or a related field (preferred)

Salary Range:
The anticipated salary for this position is $100,000.00 annually. We understand salary is an important factor in a job search and we encourage you to apply even if you feel that your desired compensation may fall outside of the listed range. The final pay for this position is determined based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant experience, skills and certifications, education and training, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity.
