Job Description

Position Title: Bookkeeper Employment Type: Full-time

Reports To: Lead Bookkeeper Schedule: Monday - Friday

Location: Evergreen Christian Community - Olympia, WA Pay Range: $65,000-$75,000

Position Summary

The Evergreen Christian Community (ECC) Bookkeeper is responsible for various bookkeeping and accounting needs for the organization and Evergreen Christian School (ECS), a ministry of Evergreen Christian Community. These responsibilities include contributions processing, donor communication, accounts receivable processes, accounts payable processes for the church and school, and other bookkeeping/administrative tasks as assigned. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in the weekly offering count process including recording contributions, designated giving, special offerings, and other items.
  • Correspond with donors and department leads to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Process cash deposits.
  • Facilitate and support core accounting functions on a daily, weekly, monthly, and other cyclical basis. 
  • Vendor relations and management.
  • Complete month-end and year-end tasks as assigned by the Lead Bookkeeper, Chief Finance Officer, and/or third-party accounting vendor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Degrees, Certifications, or Experience

  • Accounting/bookkeeping experience preferred
  • Formal education and/or college degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred
  • QuickBooks online experience preferred
  • Payroll processing experience preferred

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to frequently sit, walk, and stand
  • Ability to occasionally squat, kneel, and bend/stoop
